The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A representative for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of questionable actions involving women.

The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles combined, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
